Today, I’m opening up about mine and my husband’s love-hate relationship with Toronto. There are so many things we love Toronto for. It gave us our education, our careers, some incredible memories with family and friends, and our marriage. This is the place we call home.

Thinking back on all these years running through the 6, our only woe has been the weather. I know, the same goes for so many of you 416 locals right. But the cold temperatures, snow, ice storms and polar vortexes aren’t the only reason we hate Toronto. We can handle the cold. What we can’t deal with is how long winter is and how it hinders our passions. Karan’s passion is cricket and mine is blogging. Imagine cutting out 6-8 months of being able to pursue our passions. To be fair, we find workarounds but 6-8 months is way too long. Instead of playing cricket out on the field on a sunny day, he plays indoors during those months. Instead of having 7-10 hours of sunlight, my potential blogging time becomes limited because we get only 3-4 hours of useful daylight. And I refuse to shoot in bad light.

So what do we do? We tough it out through these cold and dark months. Whether he’s running to his indoor practises and games or I’m running to my shoots, we absolutely don’t leave home without our favourite new jackets from Noize Original. They look great and keep us really warm. I also love the Vegan leather detailing on my jacket. We’ve been wearing them on the coldest days of the¬†season and they’ve been making these long months much more bearable.

At the end of the day, our love for Toronto outdoes the weather woes. Each work day, get together with friends and family, and our own dates in the city are worth it. Toronto will always be home.

Love the photos. You and your husband look so good together. I do not live in Toronto but in Switzerland and have a similar problem with light and limited time for shootings. But like you, I love Geneva and would not change it for any other city or country.
